ABOUT THE BLOG

I am very fortunate. From the outset of the corona virus pandemic I have hibernated in the peace and relative security of Brant Lake, in the Adirondacks, the North Country of upstate New York. Loon dive for fish in the early morning stillness. Male Mallard ducks scavenge under my bird feeder while the females roost at home on their nests. Our chickens provide magnificent eggs for breakfast and deserted paths offer ample areas to walk.

Life is good—and yet.

Covid-19 surrounds us, and as I sit by the lake shore I am encircled by the crisis affecting our world. Therefore I am initiating a blog entitled SHELTERING WITH THE LOONS. Please join me as I reflect on the pandemic from the environment of Brant Lake.
